Grounding and Stress-Relief Exercises
These diagrams are useful for clients who are working with me over the phone, during stress reduction training and consultations, while I guide them through specifically tailored procedures using acupressure points and related energy psychology techniques to reduce stress and to increase a sense of well-being and confidence. They are also useful to help guide clients through the ‘homework’ I have given them to complete between phone sessions.

Clients, before you begin any given homework process with the points located on the following diagrams, I recommend you complete the following simple steps in preparation:
1. Grounding: Begin by sitting comfortably in a chair with your feet flat on the ground, relaxed but not slumped over, and your hands resting on your lap with your eyes closed. Bring your awareness to the base of your spine. Imagine that you are sitting outside in a natural setting on a large comfortable tree stump and that the trees roots reach all the way down to the center of the earth, connecting you with the earth; you feel a part of and connected to this tree, rooted to the earth. As you exhale, imagine that this releases any tension down the roots of the tree and that it also allows you to release anything you want to let go of, any thoughts, any stress, etc. As you inhale, image that the warm, golden sun is above your head, filling you up with a sense of further relaxation. Practice this for a minute or for however long you want.
2. Always make sure you are hydrated (if in doubt, drink some water).
3. Then, do the following breathing technique:
Cross your Left ankle over your right ankle.
Place your left hand on your right thigh.
Place your right hand on your left thigh.
Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth, just in back of the front teeth.
Breath slowly in this position for 90 seconds to two minutes.
Now, you are ready to complete your homework:

- Tap approximately 15 times on the side of either hand point.
- With both hands, rub, in a circular motion for about 10-15 seconds, on the ‘sore spots’ on either side of your chest, located about 3 inches diagonal from the indent under your collarbone.
- Tap 15 times on the point under your nose.
